I started this blog because, simply put, I needed a place to express myself. I've always really enjoyed writing and before I had a super-active, nonstop baby boy in my life, I really loved journaling. It was such a great outlet for me. Ever since EJ was born, though, it just hasn't been the same (and usually I have to get up at the crack of dawn to get any type of peace and quiet!)
I also really love sharing things that I love, and I love a lot of things! So, naturally I decided to start The Hardt Wife blog, to share all of the above with you.
Why "The Hardtland"?
When Josh and I got married I changed my name on Instagram to @thehardtwife (because his last name is Hardt and I'm his wife.. get it!?) and I wanted this blog to be somewhat of an extension of that. That, and I liked the play on words.
A heartland is "the central or most important part of a country or area; the center of support for a belief" and that's exactly what I want this blog to be about.
I want this blog to be a place where I can come and be the realest me and invite others to be the realest them as well. I want to not only talk about my superficial passions, like beauty and food and fashion, but I also want to be vulnerable and share the realness that is being a working mom of an almost one-year-old while your husband goes back to school and you're ballin' on a budget. All those things, superficial or not, make up my heartland, or The Hardtland. At the end of the day, that's who I am, and I want to invite you to be who you are as well.
Life is messy and fun and mundane and beautiful and I believe we should celebrate every part of it!
